In the voice of Zuri, son of Badu, "There will be.....no blog....today".
Just kidding, there will be a blog today.
Coming up on the home stretch of the teeth whitening series, I decide to take a breather, so to speak. Trust me, I will get on track next week. So, don't fight it. Just read on.....
Today, as you know, is Labor Day. It's one of the least known or understood holidays in the US, but it's still an important one. Labor Day was, and still is a fight for the rights of workers.
Originally, men and women worked significantly longer hours than we normally do; on average, it was said to be about 12 hours a day, six days a week.
On one fateful day on a September in New York (where else could this happen?), thousands upon thousands took to the streets in protest. And over many many years, we "modern" folk, now have 8 hour work days, and work 5 days a week.....at least most of us.
So, why do I bring this up when you're trying to decide on a photographer for your work? Well, quite simply, it's a time I think we should take to reflect on the struggles and sacrifice that so many fought for to give us the rights we now have. They didn't do battle with sword and shield, or guns and bombs, but they did fight for us, and we should never forget that.
So, matter where you are, whether you're taking the day off, enjoying a parade, or you have to be at your daily grind, Take some to reflect on what we do have, and have good, and safe Labor Day.
The teeth whitening series will conclude next week. I promise....actually, maybe I better not promise....sometimes I get myself into trouble when i make promises.........it shouldn't be that way, I know, but don't bust my balls about it, OK? I mean, cripes.....what do you all want from me? HUH? You want a pound of flesh, is that it? No cartilage, no bone, just flesh? Is that what you want from me, you savages? HUH, Well, I wont do, I tell you, sir.....I'll have none of it, OH! THERE WILL BE NO CHALLENGE TODAY!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I'm kidding. I'll have the final part of the series next week............but then again.............
